A report from The Athletic claims MLS is working on a deal to help lure Lionel Messi to Inter Miami. Paul Tenorio, the journalist for The Athletic, said that Inter Miami wants to make a big deal with Messi.
Part of the deal would include profit-sharing with Apple, as well as a portion of Adidas’ shares.
MLS and Apple have discussed giving Messi a share of the revenue, which the Argentine captain will receive when new subscribers sign up for their streaming package and the MLS season. Adidas is reportedly offering Messi a profit-sharing deal.
Messi has been signed with Adidas since 2006 and even played in the Qatar World Cup wearing Adidas boots. Despite these potential incentives, the confidence level to sign the deal varies from week to week.
